Discover a whole new kind of compression
F7 FABRIC SCIENCE

Marena Comfortwear compression garments embody an entirely new ComfortWeave textile technology better known as F7 science. This scientific breakthrough is recognized by the textile engineering community to be the latest in “cutting edge” textile technology using state-of-the-art fibers, machinery and design. F7 science is a revolutionary fabric breakthrough that is university tested and clinically proven to outlast and outperform the competition. The power stretch achieves the optimal performance and comfort. Fibers, design, and manufacturing techniques all contribute to the silky softness of this F7-certified fabric. Soft Lycra is wrapped around Tactel Nylon with a patented structure for comfort and performance. Durability is achieved through interlocking knitting designs and the use of premium yarns. This fabric aids in keeping the skin cool and dry decreasing the risks of irritation and rashes. The fabric has sun protection UPF 50 rated. The F7 certified fabric also has anti-microbial protection to keep the patient clean and fresh throughout the use of the garment. It is formaldehyde-free, silicone-free and latex-free.

POWER STRETCH:


A perfect balance of Power and Stretch delivers optimum compression for

         comfortable healing

 

F7 fabric produces a combination of high, balanced stretch and high, balanced power wrapping soft lycra around Tactel nylon. Highly unusual in the world of stretch fabrics.

The graph below is based on the latest rounds of tests comparing F7, our certified fabric, with the 5 leading competitors. All tests were conducted at the University of North Carolina. 

Standard powernet fabrics not only cannot achieve the individual levels of F7 stretch and compression but also cannot achieve the power-stretch balance combinations seen in F7 fabrics. Because of the core nature of their construction and component parts, powernets will provide either high compression-low stretch or low compression-high stretch but never high compression-high stretch like F7 fabrics. Additionally, powernets, by the nature of their design, cannot provide balanced stretch and compressions in the length (warp) and width (weft) directions. 



SOFTNESS:
Superior softness for all day wearing comfort

F7 fabrics are made using premium yarns such as Invista Lycra Soft® spandex and Tactel® MultiSoft nylon.

Expensive finishing treatments are also applied to F7 fabrics to improve their hand meaning how they feel when you touch them. Standard powernet fabrics made of cheaper raw materials and less expensive manufacturing techniques cannot achieve the softness of F7 fabrics.


 

DURABILITY:

 



F7 fabric lasts and lasts, even after 60 extreme washes

F7 fabrics are the longest-lasting stretch fabric available today. The patent-pending knitting design (2005) locks the premium yarns - Invista Lycra Soft spandex and Tactel MultiSoft nylon - together so that even under extended wear and washing, the fabric remains intact and continues to perform to standard.

Powernet fabrics made of a 1960’s knit design just do not hold up under today’s garment demands. Proven in rigorous laboratory flex-testing, F7 fabric not only outlasts powernet (tested for the standard 20,000 flexes) but even remains physically unchanged after an amazing 60,000 flexes.

 MOISTURE MANAGEMENT:

 Engineered to keep patients cool and dry

F7 fabrics are specially designed to provide not only superior moisture management, but also to enhance the wearer's comfort. The specially-engineered Coolmax fibers used in F7 fabrics provide enhanced breathability (called "air permeability" by the techies) that differentiate F7 from standard powernet fabrics, which use standard fibers.

Air permeability is just one of our key performance tests that fabrics must pass before they can be sold as "F7". And, remember, that all of the benefits of Coolmax®-certified F7 fabrics are permanently built right into the fiber, requiring no chemical treatments like those other wicking powernet fabrics.

    

 


ANTI-MICROBIAL PROTECTION:

Freshness protection is built right in

F7 is the only compression garment fabric with permanent anti-microbial finish. F7 antimicrobial protection is built-in to products during manufacturing to provide continuous antimicrobial product protection for the useful life of the fabric.

This protection fights the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew to keep fabrics cleaner and fresher for as long as you wear your garment giving peace of mind that lasts.
